Lab awarded North Carolina Biotechnology Grant to screen SARS-CoV2+ plasma

The Polacheck Lab was awarded a 1-yr flash grant to determine whether microfluidic models of human microvasculature can predict cardiovascular risk for patients infected with the SARS-CoV2 virus. As a research tool, the lab will use the technology to understand how interactions between the virus and vascular endothelial cells contribute to disrupted endothelial integrity and downstream consequences.
