The highly competitive position will enable Stephanie to train alongside scientists and clinicians working to address challenges with the diagnosis and treatment of kidney disease. The training program is focused on translation, and in addition to funding her research to develop microfluidic models for chronic kidney disease, the program will enable her to attend grand rounds for the UNC Kidney Center and meet the very patients her work is seeking to assist.
